I feel like my life is heading in a good direction. This year, I’ll be a (paid) teaching assistant for the Program for Narrative and Documentary Practice, where I’ll be organizing material for the program, but I’ll also get to learn technical skills and benefit from whatever the program has to offer. I’m co-leading EXPOSURE, where I get to share my love for multimedia storytelling with other students on campus. I can’t wait for my classes, particularly Producing Films for Social Change and Creative Writing: Fiction, which will both see finished products by the end of the semester. In between all that, I’ll be pursuing personal projects in Boston. This summer, I’ve built a decent archive of work through my internship with Untapped Cities, photographed for Narratively, and got my first paid portrait job. I’ve already been coming up with ideas for Singapore and wherever else I get to travel to in December and I’m so excited.
I’m excited to create and learn. To stumble (and maybe fall flat) and continue walking. To dream about the future and the potential that it has. And whenever I let my disappointment get the better of me, I will listen to the wise words of Ira Glass:
What a wonderful chance to create and preserve at the same time!
